Fire personnel rescue man on mobile tower
Dharwad: The man who had climbed atop a mobile tower was rescued by the fire personnel on Tuesday.
A police officer identified the man as Javed from Dharwad. He is known to be a pick pocket. There is an arrest warrant against him. While on top of the tower near Jubilee Circle, he was insisting that he would climb down only if the district judge came there.
After three hours, the rescue personnel persuaded him and brought him down safely and handed him over to the suburban police station.
A fire officer said, “Two rescue team members climbed the tower and gave Javed food and water. They told him to come down. However, the man threw the food down and drank only the water. He feigned to climb down but did not. He also demanded a cigarette.”
