Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.31% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:27AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.67 per cent), Granules India(up 0.56 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.36 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 0.3 per cent) and Sanofi India(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Zydus Lifesciences(down 1.4 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.32 per cent), Laurus(down 0.97 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.86 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(down 0.8 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.31 per cent at 12619.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 86.3 points at 17981.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 318.0 points at 60410.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, IOB, , and UCO Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Homesfy Realty Ltd., , , Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Anlon Technology ., Omkar Speciality, Chaman Metallics Ltd. and Moxsh Overseas Educon Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
