Foundation stone laid for police stn building
Mangaluru: Minister for fisheries, port and inland water transport S Angara laid the foundation for a police station building at Subrahmanya on Monday. The building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.2 crore.
The minister said there is a need for a conducive environment for the officials to discharge their duties. It will help in maintaining law and order. In case of a financial crunch, the minister promised to release funds under MLALAD.
Angara said already a new building has been constructed for Bellare police station. “With Kadaba attaining taluk status, I have placed a proposal before the home minister and government to sanction a circle inspector post to Kadaba,” he said.
During June last year, TOI had highlighted how a huge tarpaulin cover was spread across a portion of the roof of the Subrahmanya police station to prevent water from seeping in.
CM to arrive on Feb 28
Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, the minister said that chief minister Basavaraj Bommai will arrive at Subrahmanya and Kadaba on February 28. The CM will lay the foundation for masterplan works worth Rs 300 crore at Kukke Subrahmanya temple. He will also lay the foundation for Kadaba taluk panchayat building, mini vidhana soudha and the veterinary department’s diploma college.
