Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Budgam of Jammu and Kashmir on January 17. Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army cordoned off the area to nab the terrorists after gunshots were heard near district court in Budgam district. The terrorists killed were identified as Arbaaz Mir and Shahid Sheikh of Pulwama. They were linked with the proscribed terror outfit LeT, informed Jammu and Kashmir Police. They were killed in retaliatory firing after they fired on joint area domination party of Army and Police as it tried to stop a suspected vehicle. Both the terrorists earlier escaped from a recent encounter, said ADGP Kashmir. “On specific input, the joint area domination party of Army and Police tried to stop one suspected vehicle, terrorists fired and in retaliation, two terrorists were killed. Arms/ammunition recovered near Court Complex in the District Budgam. Details shall follow,” tweeted Kashmir Zone Police.
