MYSURU: In a bid to counter BJP’s attempts to “tarnish” Siddaramaiah — like the book which pro-right writers had attempted to release — supporters of the former chief minister have released a calendar for 2023 which extols the “achievements” of the Siddaramaiah government.
The calendar has been published in the name ‘Team Siddaramaiah’. Every month provides details of schemes the Siddaramaiah government launched between 2013-18. It even bestows different titles like ‘Annaramaiah’, ‘Raitharamaiah’, ‘Ramayya Mestru’, ‘Sirigannadaramaiah’ and ‘Arogyaramaiah’ on the Congress Legislature Party leader.
For instance, January has details of the popular ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme and refers to the former CM as ‘Annaramaiah’ for implementing the scheme. It states people’s struggle for rice prompted Siddaramaiah to announce the scheme.
February is dedicated to Indira Canteens, March to contributions in education, April to SCP-TSP scheme details, Siddaramaiah’s swearing in programme details (May), Pashu Bhagya (animal husbandry department welfare schemes- June), Vasatiramaiah (housing schemes-July), Belakuramaiah (free electricity-August), welfare of minorities (September), Arogya Bhagya (October), Sirigannadaramaiah (Kannada and culture - November), and Krishi Bhagya scheme (December).
