Ashok Gehlot claimed on Monday that 96% of the announcements made in the manifesto have been fulfilled. He was speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day Chintan Shivir to review the state budgets for 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 that started at the
Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration (RIPA).
“Of the 501 promises made in the public manifesto, which was later adopted as a vision document in the first cabinet meeting, the government has completed 77% of the announcements, 19% of them are under progress, 2% are at the initial stage while another 2% have been pending before the Centre,” said the official statement.
He said his government had made the highest-ever announcements (2,722) in the last four budgets and financial approvals have been made in 94% (2,549) of the announcements. “Of the total announcements, 49% have been fulfilled while 37% are progressing,” said Gehlot, adding that completing the budgetary announcements despite Covid-19 has made it possible for the state to achieve the second-highest GDP of 11.04% in the country,” said Gehlot.
At a press conference, cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said the government will table the Rajasthan Private Institutions Regulatory Authority Bill 2023 for quality teaching and Rajasthan Coaching Institutes Control and Regulation Authority 2023 in the budget. “Our government is committed to fulfilling all the promises made in the manifesto and budgets. It will be done in a time-bound manner,” he said.
Terming paper leaks as a cause of concern for the country, Khachariyawas said, “Even papers of army recruitment exams have not been untouched by paper leaks. Our government has taken strict measures to prevent paper leaks in the future. Those who play with youths’ future will face strict action.”
During the presentation, health department officials claimed that of 27 promises made in the manifesto, 24 have been fulfilled and the remaining three are in progress. Claiming that Rajasthan is leading in the country in health insurance coverage, Gehlot said, “State’s 90% population have registered with Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Yojana against the national average of 41% with any of the health insurance schemes. Uttar Pradesh has 15.9% and Maharashtra has 22% population covered under health insurance schemes. Health officials informed under the scheme, 31.58 lakh patients have benefitted with Rs 3625 crore disbursed for treatment,” said Gehlot. It was also informed that the state will bring the Right to Health Bill so that every citizen has a right to healthcare.
Education department officials informed during the presentation that in the last four years, 81,637 recruitments were done.
“Since December 2018, 342 new schools have been opened while 7,141 have been upgraded. The officials informed the people that the state has attained 4th rank in terms of the number of schools while opening 1,701 Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools so that students shouldn’t be left behind in cracking competitive exams.
