Prayagraj: Gearing for Allahabad-Jhansi Teacher MLC polls, 2Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership have formed ‘60 tolis’ to connect with around 16,000 teachers (voters) in Prayagraj district to woo them into the party’s fold. BJP leadership has in fact roped in its mandal wise tolis to garner support for party candidate Babu Lal Tiwari.
BJP spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI, “District party leadership has chalked out a strategy to connect with voters in terms of teachers who would be casting their franchise in teachers MLC polls on January 30”. He added, “We have formed mandal wise tolis (groups) who would be connecting around 16,000 teachers either from government or government aided schools and distributing voters slip ensuring that they would be polling in favour of party candidate”. Kesarwani, meanwhile, said, “We have formed tolIs in all 60 mandals of the district and are connecting with the voters ( teachers).
He also claimed that party has also completed all preparations to hold shikshak sammelan ahead of polls and all the principals and teachers of schools would be invited to attend the sammelan.
As it is BJP versus
Samajwadi party in teachers constituency of Allahabad -Jhansi, the BJP leadership is leaving no stone unturned and assigned roles and responsibilities to all office bearers to connect with voters (teachers).
A senior BJP functionary said, “We are taking shikshak vidhan parishad election as challenge and are conducting door to door campaign to ensure record and historic win for the party candidate”. Meanwhile, Yogesh Yadav, district president of Samajwadi Party told TOI, “We have formed committees for polls and our workers are connecting with eligible teachers (voters) at schools and college to garner support of party candidate Dr. SP Patel. We have chalked out plan to ensure triumph of party candidate at all 36 booths where polling will be held for Allahabad -Jhansi teacher’s constituency on January 30.” The significance of these elections can be gauged from the fact that the BJP national leadership had finalised the names for teachers constituencies, while the same for the Samajwadi Party was done by party chief and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav.
