Yogathon gets huge response in Hubballi and Dharwad
More than 85% of the youths who had registered for the festival participated in the Yogathon
DHARWAD: Yogathon-2023 organised at five locations in Hubballi and Dharwad to create a Guinness World Record received unprecedented response on Sunday. The event was part of the ongoing 26th National Youth Festival here.
More than 85% of the youths who had registered for the festival participated in the Yogathon and performed several asanas. The event was held at Railway grounds in Hubballi, Karnatak University ground, RN Shetty stadium, JSS College ground and UAS ground in Dharwad.
Dharwad stood out for making the Yogathon successful in the entire state. The programme was carried out with precision. People thronged venues braving the cold.
Various asanas were performed by the participants under the guidance of yoga gurus.
Legislative council chairman Basavaraj Horatti, MLA Amrut Desai, mayor Iresh Anchatageri, additional chief secretary Shalini Rajneesh, Karnatak University vice-chancellor KB Gudasi, registrar Yashpal Ksheersagar, deputy commissioner Gurudatt Hegde, ZP CEO Suresh Itnal and other senior officials participated in the event.
Hubballi Rural tahsildar Prakash Nashi performed yoga at the Hubballi Railway Cricket Ground.
15,000 at Belagavi events
Belagavi: Over 15,000 students participated in the Yogathon event, which was held on the premises of the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha and the Golf Club grounds on Sunday.
DC Nitesh Patil kicked off the proceedings at the SVS. Another event was at the Golf Club Grounds. MLA Anil Benake started off the event.
