JSR holds first horse-riding show
Jamshedpur: For the first time in the Steel City, a horse-riding show was organised at the riding club here on Saturday, in which 57 participants from the city, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar participated.
The participants, both boys and girls, were in the age group of 7 to 16 years. Dushayant, the coach of the riding school, said 11 horses took part in the 12 events.
Jamshedpur Horse Riding School, which was set up in 1994, has around 150 learners at present. The school, managed by Tata Steel, has groomed local talent to participate in horse riding competitions across the country. The riders from the school have won four medals in 2022. Shaurya Singh won one gold and one bronze medal at Ghaziabad horse show, while Harnika bagged one silver and one bronze medal at Delhi horse show.
TV Narendran, the CEO and MD of Tata Steel, lauded the winners and hoped that the cadets of the school will bring medals in the Olympics and other national and international events in the future.
“The event, which was being organised for the first time here, will be held on a regular basis every year now,” he stated.
