D Pharma student hangs self to death in Kanpur

KANPUR: A 21-year-old D Pharma student of a private institute allegedly committed suicide by hanging self from the ceiling of his rented accommodation in Shyam Vihar in New Shivli road in Kalyanpur police area on Sunday. His friemds found his body in the room after he getting no repsonse from him.
The deceased, Rahul Rajput, a native of Auraiya, was pursuing D Pharma from a private college in the city.
He was living on rent in the house of one Rajkumar Verma in Shyam Vihar.
Since Rahul was not receiving phone calls from his father-Anand Rajput, the latter asked a few of his friends to inquire about his son’s whereabouts.
Rahul’s friends tried to call him but got no response after which which they visited his rented room and found him hanging from the roof of his room.
They later apprised Rahul’s father about the incident, who later alerted the police control room.
ACP Kalyanpur Vikas Kumar Pandey, meanwhile, said that no suicide note was found in the room and it appears that the boy was reeling under depression. “We have shifted the body for postmortem. Police will act further on the basis of a complaint,” the ACP added.
