Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.68% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:14AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

MRF(up 0.35 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.14 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TVS Motor Company(down 1.68 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(down 1.29 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.24 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 1.04 per cent) and Bosch(down 0.77 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.68 per cent at 12745.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 16.35 points at 17972.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 121.97 points at 60383.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of , PNB, IOB, and L&T Fin Holding were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Generic Engg, , , Ltd. and Upsurge Seeds of Agriculture Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
