MORIGAON: Three people died and 15 others sustained injuries when a vehicle carrying pilgrims collided with a truck on a stretch of National Highway-37 in Assam's Morigaon district on Monday.
According to police, the head-on collision took place in Dharamtul area due to poor visibility.
Police said that the devotees were returning home after visiting Parshuram Kund.
The passengers were rescued by the police in cooperation with the locals and were admitted to the Morigaon Civil Hospital.
However, three critically injured people died on their way to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati for better treatment.
The other injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at the Morigaon Civil Hospital.
