Tamil Nadu: Around 60 injured during Jallikattu event at Avaniyapuram in Madurai

Jallaikattu competition was held at the Palamedu area of Madurai, Tamil Nadu on January 16. People gathered in huge numbers to watch the event. Before the bulls were let out into the arena vet doctors conducted a medical examination of the bulls. Proper barricading has been done to ensure the safety of the audience. More than 2,000 policemen have been deployed to maintain the law and order in the area. As per the data available, around 60 people sustained injuries during the event.
