Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:45AM

Karma Energy(up 4.96%), ADANIGREEN(up 4.80%), Jyoti Structures(up 3.45%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(up 2.72%), Indowind Energy(up 2.62%), JSW Energy(up 2.41%), Reliance Power(up 1.77%), RTNPOWER(up 1.27%), Transmission(up 1.22%) and Orient Green Power Company(up 0.91%) were among the top gainers.

PTC India(down 2.34%), Adani Transmissions(down 1.12%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 1.11%), NTPC(down 0.77%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 0.69%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 0.57%), GE Power India Limited(down 0.55%), Alstom T&D India(down 0.46%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.33%) and Indo Tech Transformers(down 0.31%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 21.85 points up at 17978.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 141.12 points at 60402.3 at around 10:45AM.

Tech Mahindra(up 1.81%), HCL Technologies(up 1.57%), Infosys(up 1.33%), Wipro(up 1.31%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.91%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.84%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.8%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.77%), State Bank of India(up 0.7%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.53%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 2.4%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.37%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.29%), JSW Steel(down 1.17%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.09%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.08%), Eicher Motors(down 1.05%), Cipla(down 0.8%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.71%) and NTPC(down 0.69%) were trading in the red.
