Thief threatens toll gate staff

Vijayapura: A thief allegedly fled from the Kasaba toll gate after threatening the staff there on Sunday. They said they were alerted by Ilkal police that a thief was in a Santro car. “As per their intimation, we stopped the car, bearing a Bengaluru registration number. A masked person came out with a knife and threatened to kill us and ran away towards the fields nearby. Though we chased him for 4km, we could not catch him,” they said. Ilkal police said the thief was using a stolen car. “He has left the car, a bag, a knife and scissors. We will arrest him soon,” they said. TNN
