Cabinet grants nod to prepare Mopa devpt plan

Panaji: The cabinet on Monday approved an amendment to the Goa (Mopa Airport Development Authority) Act to empower the Mopa Airport Development Authority to prepare a development plan for the planning area within its jurisdiction.
The Act, notified on September 5, 2018, allows the constitution of an authority as a single window mechanism in the area. Accordingly, the authority was constituted and is functioning efficiently.
The state government will introduce the bill in the current session of the assembly. The bill seeks to include the chief secretary and the finance secretary in the authority for its smooth functioning.
