Mandya: A Yogathon programme has been organised by the district administration,
sports department and AYUSH department on January 15 at 7am at the PET cricket stadium in Mandya and all the preparations have been made by the district administration.
Students and members of the Yoga Institute participated in the yogathon rehearsal that was held on Saturday.
The state government has ordered 5 lakh people from 19 districts of the state to do yoga at the slotted time with the intention of entering the Guinness Book of records.
The district administration is expecting over 10,000 people to participate in the programme.
Anyone above 13 years of age can participate in the yogathon by registering online. The registration process started on January 11 and already 10,000 people have registered.
A large number of school and college students have enrolled for the event.
Poses performed on National Yoga Day will be performed at the Yogathon. As many as 4,500 people attended the rehearsal at the PET Stadium on January 13 and 14. The programme is building a platform for 1,000 people under the supervision of one trainer. Similarly, the district administration has decided to construct a total of 10 platforms.
Yoga
guru Sankara Narayana Shastri will conduct the yogathon, and sportsperson and priests will participate. About eight entry gates have been created to enter the stadium.
A QR code will be given to those who have enrolled for the Yogathon and access would be given only to the registered individual.
Parking
space has been provided to the participants along with drinking water, toilets, and platform facilities for them.
