Confessions of people who have never been in relationships

Sometimes we end up being alone due to a decision we subconsciously take. Having the courage to spend life all by yourself and being happy in the company of others is truly a lot, to begin with. There are all kinds of cons and pros of being alone. It can get lonely at times when you don’t have a partner but you can also feel free and independent without the jurisdiction of being in a relationship. To understand what it is actually like to never have been in a relationship, we have 5 people who have been single till now, share with us their comments.

“I have always been a happy-go-lucky person who hasn’t had any problem being alone. In fact, I like the fact that I can be by myself and still be happy. In a world where people are always looking for company, I am content witty my own.”

“I have never felt the need to be in a relationship. I have a lot of friends and I am almost busy most of the time. I have never really wanted a partner because I have friends who are there for me when I need them. Why be in a relationship when it’s not needed at all?”

“The idea of being in a relationship scares me. I see all my friends who are committed, struggling to live up to their partner’s expectations. And me being a carefree person, can never really adjust to that kind of life. It is too burdensome.”

“Honestly, I haven’t been in a relationship yet because I haven’t found the one. I want to give all of myself to the person so I can’t get into a relationship half-heartedly. It is alright if I have to wait but I can’t imagine committing to a person who isn’t right for me.”

“I got my heart broken when I was 25. It closed me off completely. I have never been a person to try when something drastic has happened. So I didn’t. And it has been over 9 or 10 years since. I just live alone, drowned in my work. It’s the one thing that doesn’t disappoint me.”
