5th zero Covid day in Ludhiana dist

Ludhiana: For the fifth consecutive day, no person in Ludhiana tested positive for Covid-19 and there was no death due to the virus on Saturday. A day before as well, no person in the district had tested positive for Covid-19.
As no case was reported on Saturday, the number of cases from the district remained at 1,13,634 whereas the number of cases from outer districts/states were 15,303.
Health department officials said till date 40,57,066 Covid-19 tests had been done in the district. They added that as no Covid-related death took place in Ludhiana on Saturday the total number of deaths in the district till date were 3,018 whereas the number of deaths of outer districts/state in Ludhiana hospitals was 1,141.
As per heath department, on Saturday 750 samples were taken of which 628 were done through RT PCR technique whereas 121 were rapid antigen tests and one with Trunat.
Meanwhile, the health officials said that people should follow Covid-19 norms in view of the threat of variants that has triggered surge in cases in China and some other countries. They added that people should avoid visiting crowded places and preferably wear masks, if they have to go to such areas.
