Man loses Rs 78,000 in power bill fraud in lucknow

LUCKNOW: A man was duped of Rs 78,500 in the name of updating of electricity bill in Krishnanagar.
Sripati Prasad of Ganga Khera in Krishnanagar said that he got a call from an unidentified person informing him that his electricity bill was not updated and power connection to his house would be snapped soon.
The caller asked him to download QuickSupport app and pay Rs 10 through it. “After I paid Rs 10, I got message of deduction of Rs 78,500 from my bank account,” he said.
SHO, Krishnanagar, Vikram Singh said an FIR under the charges of the IT Act had been lodged and efforts were on to trace the accused.
