Ludhiana: Unknown driver booked for dragging security guard with his vehicle in Khanna

LUDHIANA: A jeep driver has been booked by Khanna police in Ludhiana for injuring a security guard of a colony by allegedly dragging him to some distance with his vehicle after he was told that that he cannot bring his jeep inside without permission .
The complainant Gurpal Singh of Kehar Singh Colony on Lalheri road in Khanna, who works as security guard at a posh colony in Khanna, said that on Friday he was attending to his duty at 2.30pm, when a jeep 'forcibly' entered the colony from Gate Number three of colony.
He added that the driver of the vehicle parked the vehicle on the backside of a house, and when he told the driver that he cannot bring his keep inside without permission.
The complainant further said that he asked the driver to take the vehicle to main gate and make entry. He added that driver of the vehicle then started the Jeep and he told him to go to Gate Number 2 of the colony.
Gurpal Singh told cops that as hand was on the driver side window, then the driver of the jeep rolled up the window of the vehicle negligently and recklessly at high speed. He added that his hand came in the window of the vehicle and the driver dragged him for a long distance and then he fell and his arm came out of the jeep.
The complainant said that then the driver of the jeep drove towards Mandi Gobindgarh Side. He added that later he informed the police.
On being informed, cops from Khanna city police station reached the spot and started probe into the matter.
Police later booked the accused under sections 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC.
Investigating officer (IO) of the case, head constable Harnek Singh said that the address of the owner of the vehicle is of a town near Ambala on Paonta Sahib road. He indicated that the owner may have sold the vehicle to other person.
