Mayor launches website for better connect with people

Hubballi: In a bid to solve citizens’ problems on priority without any delay, the mayor of Hubbali-Dharwad has now come up with a unique idea to deal with civic issues by launching his website with a QR code scan facility.
Mayor Iresh Anchatageri has decided to make best use of social media to reach out to people to help them to get solved their civic issues as early as possible. Anchatageri has now shared the QR code of his website in the public domain, encouraging people to scan the QR code to reach him directly to discuss their issues.
Sharing his new idea to reach out people with TOI, Anchatageri said we already have HDMC control room, and other facilities to help citizens to log their complaints and get it solved, but there is still need for more facilities to reach out to people to solve their problems.
“Earlier, I used to take details of complaints or other issues raised by the citizens through the control room or on my social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram accounts. But, many people found it difficult to make use of it. Now, I have given the QR code of my website. People can scan the QR code of the website and comment their opinion directly to me and also raise their complaint by using this facility,” he said.
It also aims to encourage people to give their opinion or ideas to improve Hubballi-Dharwad in a better way, to improve its infrastructure facilities and other issues. As today many youths are well acquainted with social media, we want to encourage youths to participate in the process of development of the twin cities by using this facility, he said.
“I have appointed two people to handle social media accounts, to respond to the issue raised by citizens after contacting me. During my public interaction, people also request to provide basic facilities, and I am trying my best to solve their problems,” the mayor said.
Now, I want people to directly contact me by using this QR code. After receiving any complaint, I will immediately pass it on to the concerned zonal officers and direct them to attend to these problems immediately, he said.
