Another clash at civil hospital, over kite flying issue this time
Ludhiana: A few days after relatives of the deceased vandalised civil hospital after two bodies were swapped, two groups engaged in a scuffle at the hospital on Friday night. The clashing parties are neighbours who had previously fought over an issue with kite flying at Harbanpur. One of the group members reached civil hospital for medical examination and ran into members of the other group, which led to a clash.
On January 5, a major ruckus was reported at the civil hospital, during which the emergency ward of the hospital was vandalised by a family after exchange of their relative’s body. Apart from vandalising the hospital property, the accused also thrashed the hospital staff after which a murder bid case was registered against unidentified accused.
Sub-inspector Gagandeep Singh, SHO at Division number 3 police station, said that on Friday evening, two neighbours of Harbanspura and their accomplice indulged in a spat over a minor issue of kite flying. They thrashed each other and a few of them suffered minor injuries. Police are recording statements of both groups to proceed.
After the first scuffle, both the groups reached Ludhiana civil hospital where they indulged in a spat again. Sources said they hurled bricks at each other outside the emergency unit of the hospital in the presence of the police.
Inspector Arshpreet Kaur Grewal, SHO at division number 2 police station said, “Two policemen were deployed at the civil hospital when both groups indulged in a scuffle. The cops deterred them after which the accused escaped. So far, no complaint has been received in the matter.”
