Jaisalmer: Barmer police have busted an interstate gang that looted money by tampering with ATMs. Police arrested four accused near Goonga village, 60 km from Barmer Kotwali police station, while blockading.
In the last 1.5 years, this gang tampered with dozens of ATMs in many states and looted lakhs of rupees. The gang was active in UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and other states. A large number of ATM cards of different banks and Rs 50,000 were recovered from them.
SP Deepak Bhargava said that police team arrested accused
Amit Singh, Ravindra Singh, Raj Singh and
Kalyan Singh, all residents of Uttar Pradesh. Letters have been written to all the banks about the bank fraud. The accused are being inquired.
SBI Bank’s Pratap ji Pole branch manager gave a report on Thursday saying that suspicious transaction was done at the ATM near bus stand by tampering with ATM.
Kotwali police started searching for the accused. With the help of a cyber team and technical team, police identified the accused. Police based onfollowed a tip-off and arrested them near Goonga village. Inquiry revealed that the accused would hang the ATM and tamper with it to take out money.
