Ludhiana: Staff of Ludhiana Central Jail recovered intoxicant pills and tobacco sachets during special checking. Division number 7 police lodged an FIR in the case on Friday. Kashmir Lal, deputy superintendent, Ludhiana Central Jail, said that the staff conducted a surprise check in jail when they found two packets containing 1,948 intoxicant pills and 92 tobacco sachets abandoned on the jail premises. It is alleged that the accused threw the contraband during the checking drive. AN FIR had been registered under relevant sections of the Prison Act. tnn
