No more parking of vehicles near UP police HQ road

LUCKNOW: A day after TOI highlighted haphazard parking of vehicles near gate number 3 of the UP Police headquarters on Shaheed Path is causing frequent traffic jams, Lucknow police took cognisance and decided to make the passage free from parked vehicles.
Lucknow police commissioner, SB Shiradkar, told TOI that he has instructed DCP South, Rahul Raj to depute a team of Sushant Golf City police station to ensure that parking on the road does not take place around Gate No.3.
DCP South, Rahul Raj told TOI that SHO Golf City visited the area and conducted a survey with his team on Friday.
"Vehicles of all the policemen coming to the headquarters will be parked inside, while a lane on the side of the road has been chosen where the cars of visitors will be parked," said Raj. He said that in a couple of days the passage will be smooth for the movement of the vehicles. He said that separate cops will be deployed in the area in the coming days.
A day before, TOI story had stated that no cop was deployed to regulate parking at gate number 3. While quoting local residents, it stated that the police HQ has a two-floor underground parking facility, but it remained unutilized.
There are many posh high-rise residential buildings near the UP Police HQ Gate number 3.
