MSU para swimmer wins three gold medals at national c’ship
Vadodara: A student of MA psychology of MS University won three gold medals and bagged the best swimmer (senior women) trophy at the XXII national para swimming championship held in Guwahati.
Garima Vyas is the first para swimmer with spinal cord injury from Gujarat to win gold medals in all events and be declared best female swimmer.
There were 32 participants from Gujarat who won 18 gold, five silver and six bronze medals. Gujarat stood sixth in medal tally in the event.
From Vadodara, six para swimmers had participated in the event. Garima is practising under Sports Authority of Gujarat’s district coach Vivek Singh Boraliya.
During the last championship held at Udaipur, Garima had won one gold medal. District sports development officer Krishna Pandya congratulated Garima, her parents and coaches for the hard work that they put in for the achievement.
