Cruise ship calls at Mangaluru port
Mangaluru: The port city welcomed its fourth cruise ship of the season, and first cruise ship of the year — MS The World—which is a private residential cruise ship, that berthed at the New Mangalore Port on Friday afternoon. Authorities at NMP welcomed the cruise vessel carrying 123 passengers and 280 crew members, which berthed alongside berth No. 04. It will stay at the port for three days, and will sail to Kochi at 11 pm on Sunday.
The passengers were given a warm welcome in the traditional way, while disembarking from the ship. Various arrangements were made, such as medical screening for passengers, multiple immigration and customs counters for swift movement, free Wi-Fi, and clothing and handicraft outlets were kept open. The department of Ayush has set-up a meditation centre inside the cruise lounge, for the benefit of cruise passengers.
