Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:45AM

Sheetal Cool Products(up 1.79%), Heritage Foods(up 1.64%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 0.87%), Dangee Dums(up 0.54%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.47%), Gillette India(up 0.43%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.42%), Nakoda Group(up 0.38%), Parag Milk(up 0.20%) and Britannia Industries(up 0.19%) were among the top gainers.

Varun Beverages(down 3.53%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.31%), Vadilal Industries(down 1.24%), Dabur India(down 0.82%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.61%), ADF Foods(down 0.60%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.53%), Marico(down 0.37%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.30%) and Nestle India(down 0.28%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 34.85 points down at 17823.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 168.31 points at 59789.72 at around 10:45AM.

Tata Steel(up 2.62%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.16%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.93%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.89%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.81%), JSW Steel(up 0.81%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.71%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.62%), Grasim Industries(up 0.61%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.54%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 1.48%), Wipro(down 1.34%), Enterprises(down 1.14%), Asian Paints(down 1.13%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.13%), Axis Bank(down 0.98%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.95%), Reliance Industries(down 0.82%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.64%) and Tata Motors(down 0.57%) were trading in the red.
