BENGALURU: Two days after a Metro construction-related structure crashed killing a woman and her toddler-son, a sinkhole appeared on Thursday opposite Brigade Towers on Brigade Road where the Pink Line (Kalena Agaraha - Nagawara) underground tunnelling work is underway.
A motorcyclist sustained minor injuries after falling into the suddenly formed sinkhole. However, BMRCL which executes Metro rail project denied its tunnelling contributed in any way to the cave-in.
The biker was riding towards Residency Road when the road opened up in the afternoon and the bike's front wheel ran into it.
"The road was clear and there was not even the smallest sign of it caving in. As the front tyre entered the space, it gave in. I fell down with my bike, hurting my knees. I had to step up to come out from the opening," biker Puneeth said.
