Thane: No bail for 3 in BJP activist assault case

THANE: The Thane sessions court has rejected anticipatory bail of three persons including former corporator of Thane Municipal corporation in an assault case of BJP’s office bearer. The pre-arrest of Vikas Repale, his wife, and one more, all from Shinde faction of Shiv Sena was rejected by additional sessions judge AS Bhagwat.
The Wagle Estate police had on December 31, 2022, registered an FIR against 10 persons including the trio for murderous assault of BJP activist and office bearer Prashant Jadhav, on December 30, at Kashish Park locality over putting up banners. The trio moved court for relief stating that they are being falsely implicated due to political enmity.
The prosecutor resisted the application and said if the pre arrest bail is granted then the applicants may tamper with the witnesses. The judge noted, “..the medical certificates placed on record also indicates head injury caused to complainant during the incident. The custodial interrogation of the applicants is required for due and in-depth investigation of the matter.”
