Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.73% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:56AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Infosys(up 0.39 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.

L&T Technology(down 6.14 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 2.37 per cent), MPhasis(down 2.02 per cent), Coforge(down 1.94 per cent) and Persistent Systems(down 1.45 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.73 per cent at 28511.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 39.4 points at 17818.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 183.47 points at 59774.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of , PNB, , and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Uma Converter Ltd., , Kandarp Digi Smart ., and Varanium Cloud Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Anlon Technology ., , Dollex Agrotech Ltd., . and Sangam(India)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
