Suspended WCL staffer ends life

Chandrapur: A suspended assistant manager of WCL hanged himself to death behind the area general manager (AGM) office in Chandrapur on Thursday afternoon. Cops said that the deceased, Dinesh Karade, was suffering from depression.
Karade was working with Durgapur Rayatwari Colliery, under WCL Chandrapur area, when he was caught taking bribe by the anti-corruption wing of CBI. With the CBI initiating an inquiry, WCL had placed Karade under suspension. Karade often approached his seniors with requests of reinstating him.
On Thursday, the deceased, along with another suspended employee, was spotted at the temple behind the AGM office. After the fellow employee went away, Karade climbed over the temple, and hanged himself with the help of a saree from a tree.
WCL employees found his dead body hanging from the tree at around 1.30 pm. Cops have recovered a suicide note from the body, in which Karade had reportedly mentioned names of a persons responsible for forcing him to take the drastic step.
