The NSE Nifty index closed 98.4 points up at 17956.6, while BSE Sensex ended up 303.15 points at 60261.18.
On the other hand, .(down 1.20 per cent), .(down 0.56 per cent), .(down 0.45 per cent), .(down 0.33 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
