Ajith and Vijay have a huge fan following. Ajith's 'Thunivu' and Vijay's 'Varisu' hit the big screens yesterday Jan 11, and the former's film topped the Tamil Nadu box office by holding higher screens than the latter. Ajith and Vijay's latest releases received tremendous responses on the opening day, and both films earned almost equal numbers in the state. But the happiness couldn't last longer for Tamil Pongal releases, as both films are running with empty seats at multiple locations. Only a few people are spotted in the respective screenings of 'Thunivu' and 'Varisu' and it clearly explains the problem of releasing the film in the midweek on a working day. However, the overall responsibility for both films is good, and they expected to get over 70% occupancy on day 2. With the Pongal festival falling on this Sunday, Jan 15, and multiple holidays and weekends, both films are expected to develop well at the box office, and the social media battle is on fire between both fans.
