Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.04% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.7 per cent), TIINDIA(up 1.67 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.26 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(up 0.71 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Ashok Leyland(down 1.64 per cent), MRF(down 1.3 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.61 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.58 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.17 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.04 per cent at 12757.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 43.65 points at 17852.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 155.1 points at 59950.4.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of , , , FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cool Caps Industries Ltd., , , and Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mangalam Worldwide Ltd., , ., Sintex Inds. and Elin Electronics Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
