Nine stray dogs found dead

Salem: Nine stray dogs were found dead near the Ismail Khan lake at Reddiyur in the city on Wednesday.
When alerted, L Vidhya Lakshmi, a trustee of Rescuing Animals In Need — an NGO — went there and found carcasses of some dogs floating in the lake and a few other on the lake bed. “I usually feed the stray dogs at ND Nagar in Alagapuram area. For the past one week, I could not find any dogs there,” she said. Based on her complaint, the Fairlands police registered a case under Section 429 of the Indian Penal Code. tnn
