Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:50AM

Coal India(up 0.73%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.61%), Pokarna(up 0.50%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.23%) were among the top gainers.

Aro Granite Industries(down 2.17%), Dvpt Corporation(down 1.45%), MOIL(down 1.33%), 20 Microns(down 1.25%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.73%), KIOCL(down 0.19%) and Ashapura Minechem(down 0.05%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 73.75 points down at 17821.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 274.63 points at 59830.87 at around 10:50AM.

HCL Technologies(up 1.25%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.08%), JSW Steel(up 1.03%), Grasim Industries(up 0.83%), SBI Life(up 0.75%), Coal India(up 0.73%), UPL Ltd(up 0.54%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.52%), HDFC(up 0.42%) and NTPC(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 3.08%), Axis Bank(down 2.04%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.5%), Reliance Industries(down 1.24%), Asian Paints(down 1.13%), ICICI Bank(down 1.02%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.01%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.97%), State Bank of India(down 0.76%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 0.72%) were trading in the red.
