Married woman commits suicide

Jaisalmer: A woman died after falling into a water tank at Govindaro ki Dhani Rawatpura in Phalsoond area in Jaisalmer district on Tuesday. Police later reached the spot but the family members had already taken out the body from the tank. The deceased got married 9 months ago. Her family members have lodged a case of dowry and murder against her in-laws.
Phalsoond SHO Bhanwar Lal Vishnoi said Jhamu, wife of Mohanram, jumped into a water tank in front of the house on Tuesday.
He said Chandna Ram, father of the deceased and resident of Sarli (Barmer), lodged a report that his daughter was married to Mohanram nine months ago. He alleged that her in-laws used to harass her for dowry and disturbed with this, she jumped into a water tank and committed suicide.
The SHO said relations between the deceased and her husband were not good. Both did not talk to each other for around 2.5 months when she was at her parents house. Later, her in-laws and her husband took her back but relations between did not improve.
Pokhran CO Amarjeet Chawla reached the spot and sought information about the incident. The body was handed over after the postmortem by the medical board. tnn
