Mysuru: In a remote village of Hanur taluk in Chamarajanagar district, a few farmers have painted tiger stripes on a dog to scare wild boars and monkeys from destroying crops and save goats from being attacked.
The visuals of this dog with tiger stripes roaming on the village roads had gone viral on social media. The incident was reported from Ajjipura village, which is 7 kilometers from the taluk center Hanur. Local Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) Nandish said this dog has been wandering the village roads for the past 10-15 days.
According to the sources, the dog has been painted with tiger stripes to scare wild boars, and monkeys as the forest department failed to give any solution to their problem. The farmers of the village are facing a lot of challenges to save crops from monkeys, and wild boars. On many occasion, their goats are also attacked by other animals. “So, a dog has been now painted with tiger stripes. It can be found roaming on the village roads,” explained local residents.
