DSP’s killing by mining mafia in Nuh: Haryana disbands judicial panel
Chandigarh: In a sudden development, the Haryana government has disbanded the judicial commission headed by a former high court judge, Justice L N Mittal, which was constituted in August last year to probe the killing of Haryana DSP Surender Singh in Nuh district by the mining mafia.
A formal notification about the disbanding of the commission was issued by the state’s home department on January 9.
“Whereas the state government is of the opinion that the continued existence of the commission of inquiry constituted by the Haryana government, home department notification No. 11/44/2022-IHG-I, dated August 18, 2022, is unnecessary. Now, therefore, in the exercise of powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) and sub-section (2) of Section 7 of the Commission of Inquiry Act, 1952, the governor of Haryana hereby specifies the October 31, 2022 (afternoon), the date from which the commission of inquiry constituted vide aforesaid notification shall cease to exist,” according to the notification issued by T V S N Prasad, additional chief secretary (home), Haryana.
