Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:09AM

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.26%), & Industries(up 1.09%), EID Parry(up 0.29%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 0.28%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 0.15%) were among the top gainers.

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.84%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.83%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.65%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 1.17%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.14%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.89%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.83%), Sakthi Sugars(down 0.83%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 0.82%) and Simbhaoli Sugars(down 0.76%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 43.4 points down at 17852.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 154.02 points at 59951.48 at around 10:09AM.

Grasim Industries(up 1.53%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.28%), HCL Technologies(up 1.28%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.27%), SBI Life(up 0.88%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.7%), Coal India(up 0.68%), NTPC(up 0.63%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.59%) and HDFC(up 0.47%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 2.71%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.52%), Asian Paints(down 1.31%), Reliance Industries(down 1.0%), Axis Bank(down 0.96%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.94%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.8%), ICICI Bank(down 0.75%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.68%) and Infosys(down 0.63%) were trading in the red.
