MLA Kadu hit by unidentified biker in Amt, being treated at Ngp
Nagpur/Amravati: Prahar Janshakti Party founder and Achalpur MLA Bacchu Kadu was seriously injured in a road accident in Amravati on Wednesday morning. Kadu suffered injuries to head and limbs and was rushed to a private hospital in Amravati. He received three stitches on head, hospital sources said. Later in the day, doctors referred Kadu to a Nagpur hospital.
Amravati police said the incident took place around 6am when an unknown motorcyclist dashed Kadu while he was crossing road on foot. Amravati’s Gadgenagar police have registered an offence against the unknown biker.
According to a complaint lodged with Gadgenagar police by Kadu’s driver Gaurav Bhore, the MLA left his hometown Kural Purna and reached Aradhana Square at around 6am to meet a friend there. The driver stopped the vehicle by the roadside and Kadu got down to meet his friend, who had parked his vehicle on the other side of the road. While crossing the road, a biker dashed Kadu and his head hit the road divider. Kadu sustained injuries on head and right leg. Seeing this, the biker sped away while Kadu’s driver and his friend rushed him to a local hospital. As soon as the news of the accident spread, Prahar workers and Kadu’s well-wishers rushed to the hospital.
Later, treating doctors referred Kadu to a Nagpur hospital.
Police are on the look out for the absconding bike rider.
Kadu was a minister of state in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government between November 2019 to June 2022. In June 2022, Kadu had defected from the MVA to join Eknath Shinde faction. He was in news recently following public spat with Badnera MLA Ravi Rana.
