Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.74% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:11AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.35 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Axis Bank(down 2.03 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 1.55 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.52 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.42 per cent) and ICICI Bank(down 0.88 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.74 per cent at 41919.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 93.7 points at 17802.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 339.0 points at 59766.5.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, , PNB, and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cool Caps Industries Ltd., Donear Ind, , Jeena Sikho Lifecare Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mangalam Worldwide Ltd., , , Coastal Corp(PP)and . hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
