Thiruvananthapuram: Pettah police on Wednesday arrested a friend of notorious gangster
Om Prakash and another from Bengaluru in connection with the goon attack on Sunday that left four injured.
The arrested have been identified by police as Ibrahim, the driver of Om Prakash, and Salman. The other four accused in the case, including Om Prakash, are absconding as police have intensified search for them. Another gangster Puthanpalam Rajesh, who was booked by the police for threatening an ambulance driver with a knife, is also absconding.
On Sunday a gang led by Om Prakash hacked four men using swords at Pattoor over a business deal dispute.
The injured in this case are also involved in various criminal activities. The gang of Om Prakash and the injured used to do various real estate deals and also quarry businesses together. The injured had a dispute with gang members of Om Prakash over such a deal. This led to Sunday's attack.
On Tuesday, gangster Puthanpalam Rajesh threatened an ambulance driver with a knife. Rajesh got annoyed when he was asked to move his car to give way for the ambulance. Police later took the car and driver into custody, but Rajesh is still absconding.
