Illegal betting: SHO, 3 constables suspended in UP

Agra: Police personnel including SHO and three constables who were allegedly involved in promoting illegal betting were suspended at Nagra-Kotwali police station of Muzaffarnagar on Tuesday. As per police sources, after receiving a complaint about illegal betting in Sujru village, SSP Vineet Jaiswal ordered a probe. “Three police constables were suspended and the SHO was removed from his post and attached to police lines. A separate departmental investigation is also being conducted, and further action,” said DSP Ayush Vikram Singh (IPS).
He added that the police personnel were involved in betting, even though they were instructed to curb such activities in their area, therefore strong action was taken against them. TNN
