LUDHIANA: Machhiwara police on Thursday arrested a person for murder of his sister-in-law in Sikanderpur village.
The accused was identified as Amrik Singh whereas the deceased was 30-year-old Muskan.
Raj Singh, the husband of the deceased Muskan, told cops that about two years ago, he had a love marriage with his wife who originally belonged to Delhi. He added that he lived in his village Sikandarpur and there his elder brother Amrik Singh Vicky who was addicted to alcohol and kept fighting in the house so fed up, he and his wife started living in a rented house at Machhiwara.
Husband of the deceased said that he also has a year old daughter and works in a shop at Machhiwara and as the rent of the house where he lived was high, he came to his native village Sikanderpur five days ago and started living with his family. He alleged that on Thursday evening, his brother Amrik quarrelled with his wife and killed her with a sharp weapon.
The complainant told cops that his brother made a video of her after the murder and sent it to his friend Jatinder Singh who sent the video to him and told me that his brother had murdered his wife. He added that after he came to know about the incident, he immediately reached his village and saw that neither his brother Amrik nor his wife was present in the house.
