Coimbatore: Two wild elephants entered a cattle shed in a farm at Pappanaickenpalayam near Chinna Thadagam on Tuesday and ate rice bran, groundnut cake and cattle feed kept there. The jumbos also damaged fences around the farm and a papaya tree there.
The shed is on four acres of land owned by Narasimmaraj, 60. He, along with his wife, lives in a house on the farm, where bananas and coconuts were cultivated. The shed is located adjacent to his house. “I watched the elephants via CCTV camera feed. They entered the shed around 12.50am on Tuesday and came out after some time and walked out of the farm. When I checked the shed, I found that the elephants had left two cows alone, but ate rice bran, groundnut cakes and other cattle feed,” Narasimmaraj said.tnn
