Hubballi: The police commissioner has identified parking places and traffic diversion in the wake of the inauguration of the 26th National youth festival (NYF) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jan 12.
Vehicles coming from Navalgund shall drop participants at KH Patil road and Shringar cross and can park at Gadag road, Vinobha nagar.
Buses arriving from Gadag road can drop off people at Ambedkar circle and can park at Chilli maidan. Vehicles arriving from Gabbur cross can drop their passengers at Police Quarters and can park at Girani chawl maidan and MT mills ground.
Vehicles arriving from Karwar road can drop people at Glass house well and park at Glass house well ground. Arriving vehicles from Dharwad can drop off passengers at Old bus stand and park at Raikar ground, Hosur. Meanwhile, traffic movement is banned between 1pm on 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday from Gokul Road, Moffusil depot to Siddeshwar park, Shirur park, KIMS main road, Hosur road, Bhagat Singh circle, circuit house road, Baliga cross, Desai cross, Railway maidan.
Public transport buses arriving from Karwar road will be stopped at a temporary stand marked at Karwar Road Plaza (under bridge). Long-route buses can move on ring roads and bypass roads. Buses coming from Bengaluru can halt at Gabbur bypass and long-route buses can run via ring road or bypass road. Buses coming from Gadag Road shall halt at Railway loco shed and long-route buses can move via ring road and bypass. Buses from Navalgund road should stop at the Oxford college railway bridge, and long-distance buses can use the ring road or bypass. Buses coming from Belagavi and Dharwad can halt at Tarihal bridge and long-route buses can move via bypass.
Hubballi-Dharwad Chigari, Bendre and NWKRTC city buses shall terminate inside the KIMS hospital.
Other light motor vehicles arriving from Dharwad can move via President Hotel, Sainagar, JK School, Gopanakoppa, Keshwapur or via Kusugal. Heavy vehicles coming from Dharwad can move via Navanagar, Gamanagatti industrial estate, Tarihal bypass. The movement of heavy vehicles is banned in the city. Heavy vehicles coming from Navalgund and Gadag can move via ring road.
