Dense fog affects normal life in Delhi, northern India

Dense fog engulfed Delhi and northern parts India with reduced visibility. The coldwave has also affected the normal life of people. People were found huddled around bonfires along the roads to beat the bone-chilling conditions in the city. With dipping mercury across northern India, the cold waves continue to prevail in Delhi. As per IMD, the national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 5.9°C on January 11, with a visibility of 100 m. Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality dipped into the ‘severe’ category.
